Wiener Tales' is not only a shop for Dachshund fans, but we are also active in the rescue community. We are proud and active members of the national, Almost Home Dachshund Rescue Society, as well as their Pacific Northwest contact. Every purchase you make here supports Doxie Rescue! We hold two events each year and all proceeds from the event go directly to AHDRS and their medical fun. Every dollar we make with the business goes toward our own rescue dogs medical fund or supporting our benefit events.
We are a small home business, located in Rochester, Washington. The owner/operator of Wiener Tales is Sheri Jones, a long time resident of Western Washington, originally from Chicago, Illinois. Sheri remembers, "We came up with the idea one night during the Summer of 2005. We were camping and lying under the stars, watching our Dachshund, "Rizzo", warm up next to the fire, and there was the inspiration for our "Wiener Roast" design." She adds, "We were at a dog park, where there happened to be several Dachshunds, along with our Rizzo and Moxie, eyeing each other, and there was our inspiration for the "Wiener Envy" design." Above: Rizzo, our oldest Doxie, is around 15 years old and was rescued by Sheri about 10 years ago. She was brought into the vet where Sheri worked as an assistant at the time, and she has been a Doxie lover ever since.
All of our designs were thought of and created by Sheri and her partner, Mike. They create every design on paper by hand, and then convert them to a printable format. The t-shirts we sell here in our shop are NOT printed on a conveyor belt through a large business. They use a small four-color manual press for screen printing, so each item has been shown individual attention. "We strive for perfection here." Sheri says, "Our shirts are high quality garments, and we never use factory seconds or irregulars. The shirts we order and print are always made of 100% preshrunk, heavyweight cotton. Our goal is to provide ultimate comfort and a design that people will compliment you on when you are wearing our items."
