Before You Adopt from Wiener Tales
Please understand that these dogs can only go to pre-approved homes. Although we are privately run, we are the WA reps for AHDRS and we abide by their guidelines strictly. Any animals you currently have as family members should be current on vaccinations, altered, and your veterinary and personal references will be checked along with a home visit. Those of us involved in rescue do everything we possibly can to assure that each dog is going to it's "forever" home. Many have been in more than one home, and it is our top priority to assure that each dog is placed into a home where they will be properly taken care of with required vaccinations, flea preventatives, and proper diet and training. Adoption fees cover our medical costs for foster dogs, whether it is the one you are applying for or a general medical fund, we do not profit off of any of our fosters. Our foster dogs are treated with Frontline, wormed, current on vaccines, heartworm preventative (when required for traveling etc...), altered, and training has begun on any behavioral/social issues, including, but not limited to house-training, crate, and leash training.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A SPECIFIC TYPE OF DOG... FEMALE/MALE, LONG HAIR, YOUNG, ADULT... ETC, PLEASE FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION AND WE CAN PUT YOU ON A LIST. WHEN NEW FOSTERS COME INTO RESCUE, PRE-APPROVED ADOPTERS HAVE PRIORITY OVER NEW APPLICANTS.
Please email sheri@wienertales.com if you have any questions about adopting a new family member, applying, or helping out.

Animal's name: Boogey Woogey Bugle Boy ADOPTION PENDING Age (years): 2 1/2 Weight (pounds): 15 Spayed/Neutered: Yes Coat: Wire Color: Black & Tan Adoption fee: $200 Location: Rochester, WA
This beautiful wirehair tweenie boy came to us as Booger, and is affectionaltely known now as Boogey Woogie Bugle Boy or Boog.
Boog, who is only 2 1/2 years old, was surrendered to a local Humane Society and then transferred to AHDRS. He spent his life before rescue on a large farm where he got along swimmingly with goats, cows, horses, and more. Until one day he decided to get into the chicken coop. That was a big no no on the farm and he was immediately turned over to the Humane Society.
Since arriving in foster, Boog has been a very sweet guy. Good with his foster brothers and sisters, as well as the human kids (ages 4 and up). We do recommend that their are no pet birds or wild or domestic fowl on the property at his adoptive home. He would be a great candidate for Earthdog. His prey drive is high, but he does do amazingly well with cats of all sizes.
Boog arrived overweight at 18 lbs, and since being on a diet has lost 3 lbs. He is crate trained, neutered, current on Vaccines, and has been de-flead and wormed. He spent most of his life outside at the farm, so we are working on housebreaking, leash training, and general commands with him. He now waits at the door for the "come-in" command, and sits quite nicely for a small treat or snuggle.
Boog needs a forever home who understands a high energy dog. He gets bored easily and will let you know when that happens by digging a hole in the yard or finding a towel to dig in. He also buries his toys occasionally. We keep him busy here with training, lots of chew toys and balls, and regular walks. He loves to play with all of our other small dogs in the house. He has shown some mild aggression towards big dogs, which we are working on.
